Introducing the 2018 Toyota Rav 4

Toyota introduced the Rav4 in the mid-1990’s as one of the first compact crossovers to come to fruition. Like its predecessors, the 2017 RAV4 is a small, car-based SUV with five seats standard (there’s no third row offered in this generation) and either front- or all-wheel drive. The Rav4 is accentuated by its car like integration—and is without any of the standard limitations in capabilities or spaciousness.

Exterior

Hearty 18-in. 5-spoke Black alloy wheels, larger overfender flares and durable rocker panel guards are all standard for the RAV4.

Engine

All versions of the RAV4 come standard with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic, while the sporty SE and swanky Limited are available with a more powerful and efficient hybrid powertrain that pairs to a continuously variable transmission.

Driver Assistance

Standard and available features include Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, Toyota’s Entune infotainment system with a 6.1- or 7.0-inch touchscreen, a sunroof, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a programmable power tailgate, LED headlights and much more.

Interior

Practicality reigns supreme in the RAV4, as this crossover has a spacious and versatile interior that’s well packaged for carrying people-- and their multitude of belongings.

Available Options

The new special-edition model called the RAV4 Adventure comes with the Tow Prep package, a higher ride height, 18-inch alloy wheels, lower body guards, fog light surrounds, a 120V power outlet in the cargo area, all-weather floor mats, special interior trim panels, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

Standard and available features include Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, Toyota’s Entune infotainment system with a 6.1- or 7.0-inch touchscreen, a sunroof, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a programmable power tailgate, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree view camera system, a 4.2-inch multi-information display in between the gauges, and leatherette upholstery. Unique to the SE trim is a sport-tuned suspension that slightly improves the RAV4’s handling. Toyota Safety Sense-P is also included, and consists of forward-collision warning, lane-departure alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.

Always pay careful attention to the road, and do not drive while distracted. Driver assistance features are not substitutes for attentive driving. See Owner’s Manual for further details, and important limitations.

Practicality reigns supreme in the RAV4, as this crossover has a spacious and versatile interior that’s well packaged for carrying people-- and their multitude of belongings. The rear seat boasts plentiful legroom and headroom, and it also reclines. The RAV4 also has a comfortable and quiet ride, with better noise isolation than some of its more fierce competitors.
