Introducing the All-New 2018 Toyota C-HR

Toyotas brand new upcoming compact, the CH-R, expounds on a much needed middle ground for people who enjoy SUV’s but are inherently better suited to a coupe or sedan. Aptly named ‘Coupe High Rider’, the CH-R offers the high riding, spacious SUV experience- but with the capabilities and cost to own of a car. The CH-R stands out as a stark new direction for Toyota and a breath of fresh air for the automotive market as a whole.

Exterior

Toyota has fashioned the High Rider in a brilliant ‘Distinctive Diamond’ theme. They wanted the CH-R to lend the exquisite strength of the gem, while being effortlessly beautiful and luxurious.

Engine

The C-HR comes equipped with an economical 2.0 L 4 cylinder that produces 144 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque.

Driver Assistance

The CH-R comes standard with plenty of features, including; 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen audio system with steering-wheel controls, rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Interior

The spacious cabin offers comfort and amenities with style, featuring soft touch materials in all the right places. The monochrome color theme is sharply accented with diamond quilted cloth and silver linings around the crevices, which emanate a subtle maturity.

Available Options

The XLE Premium adds blind-spot monitors, a power driver's seat with more adjustments, heated front seats, a keyless ignition, fog lights, and turn signals in the door mirrors.

Exterior

Toyota has fashioned the High Rider in a brilliant ‘Distinctive Diamond’ theme. They wanted the CH-R to lend the exquisite strength of the gem, while being effortlessly beautiful and luxurious. The theme is translated into physical form through sharply cut edges paired to a dynamic shape that give the body striking definition. Even with the flair, the body still looks compact and approachable, thanks to the help of visual illusions like the rear door handles being hidden within the shapely rear pillars.

Engine

The C-HR comes equipped with an economical 2.0 L 4 cylinder that produces 144 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. Although this isn’t quite the recipe for a performance car, it does get unexpectedly good gas mileage- 27 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway- and may actually surprise you with its deft responsiveness. Deputy Chief Engineer Hiro Koba, a diehard racer at heart, made it his mission to take the C-HR to the famed Nurburgring to ensure that the ride would be as exhilarating as the body was uncanny.

Technology

Toyota makes picking a trim level no sweat by humbly offering the CH-R in just two trim levels, XLE and XLE Premium. Many won’t even need to consider the options, considering that the base level CH-R comes with plenty of features, including; 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen audio system with steering-wheel controls, rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The XLE Premium adds blind-spot monitors, a power driver's seat with more adjustments, heated front seats, a keyless ignition, fog lights, and turn signals in the door mirrors.

Always pay careful attention to the road, and do not drive while distracted. Driver assistance features are not substitutes for attentive driving. See Owner’s Manual for further details, and important limitations.

Interior

The interior of the CH-R is surprisingly spacious, again benefitting from the SUV body style, even though it’s technically considered a hatchback. The spacious cabin offers comfort and amenities with style, featuring soft touch materials in all the right places. The monochrome color theme is sharply accented with diamond quilted cloth and silver linings around the crevices, which emanate a subtle maturity.
