2012 Toyota Prius

The 2012 Toyota Prius For Crown Point Drivers is Coming to Toyota of Merrillville This Fall

If you are searching for a vehicle that boasts great looks, unbelievable fuel economy, and a wide  range of standard features and options, the new 2012 Toyota Prius coming soon to Crown Point is the vehicle for you. The Prius offers the total package when it comes to providing everything that buyers want and expect out of a small car.

When the new 2012 Toyota Prius comes to the Valparaiso area later this year, it is expected to return without any major changes from the 2011 model. Aside from a few aerodynamic modifications to the vehicle’s body style in order to boost its fuel economy even higher, we should see the same great Prius we all know and love.

Standard Features for the 2012 Prius

The 2012 Toyota Prius for Merrillville drivers will come with plenty of standard features. There are also several packages that can be added to the hybrid at an additional cost. Rather than adding new features this year, we most likely will see a re-shuffling of features between models. Toyota will most likely save any major feature updates for the next-generation Prius. The 2012 model comes in several different trim levels and all come standard with:

        • LED taillights and stop light

        • Hybrid Synergy Drive blue accent headlamps and badges

        • Body-colored, power, heated outside mirrors

        • UV reduction glass windshield

        • Rear spoiler with LED center high-mount stop light

        • Multi-Information Display

        • 60/40 split fold-down rear bench seat with adjustable headrests

        • Cruise control

        • Touch Tracer Display

        • EV/Eco/Power modes

        • Remote keyless entry

        • Power windows and door locks

        • And much more

The Prius Provides Plenty of Power With Both a Gas and Electric Engine

When the new 2012 Prius rolls into showrooms this fall, we should again see it employ a combination of both electric power and a gasoline engine. Toyota refers to this system as Hybrid Synergy Drive. It works by drawing on either power source, individually or simultaneously, automatically mixing and matching to balance the demand for acceleration with the goal of conserving fuel. The Prius will get a 1.8L four-cylinder gas engine, which will be teamed up with two small electric motors that will draw their power from onboard nickel-metal hydride batteries. The 2012 Prius is expected to remain at a steady 134 hp.
